The fund invests primarily in bonds issued for public purposes by the State of Oregon and local governments in Oregon. The fund’s dividends come from income produced by these holdings, which are exempt from both federal and state personal income tax for residents of Oregon and exempt from federal personal income tax for residents of other states. The fund intends to invest in bonds issued for public purposes including, but not limited to: education, health care, public-transportation, water, wastewater reclamation, storm-water drainage, electricity service, and governmental facilities. The fund’s investment advisor intends to select bonds with limited maturities, which seeks to minimize the exposure of the fund to volatility in market prices and interest rates.
