Our History

 

 
 

SNW Asset Management (“SNW”), which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017, began in 2002 as a subsidiary of Seattle-Northwest Securities Corporation (founded in 1970), specializing in U.S. dollar-denominated taxable and tax-exempt fixed income investment management. We have grown to approximately $2.7 billion in assets under management and serve more than 1,800 separate accounts on an actively managed basis. Our clients include Registered Investment Advisors, high net worth individual investors, corporations, trusts, government entities, financial institutions and non-profit organizations.

We exist because investors deserve a fixed income portfolio that is built, managed and serviced with their best interests in mind.  We achieve this by acting as disciplined and responsive fiduciaries to our clients and by being ethical owners of an innovative business.

 SNW adds value to clients’ fixed income portfolios by doing thorough, ongoing credit analysis on each security within our clients’ portfolios, while also actively managing the interest rate and sector risk inherent in fixed income investing.

Eddie Bernhardt, CFA, SVP, SNW Investment Team lead & Sr. Portfolio manager

Eddie Bernhardt serves as Senior Vice President and SNW Investment Team Leader. He is responsible for the portfolio management of the SNW National Municipal, Blend, Taxable, Credit and Impact investment strategies. He served as President and CEO of SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Prior to joining SNW in 2005, Eddie traded taxable and municipal bonds at Wells Fargo Securities, and also constructed high-net- worth fixed income portfolios for the firm’s Private Client Services group. Additionally, he was a portfolio manager with a regional banker’s bank for credit unions. Eddie holds a B.A. from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He is also a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Society of Portland.

Mark Baker, VP Director Of Strategic Accounts

Mark Baker is Director of Strategic Accounts for the SNW Investment Team. In 2011, he joined SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. His experience includes over 20 years of executive-level sales and business development leadership. Mark has been instrumental in driving revenue for privately-held and start-up companies as they raised capital for the early stages of company growth. Mr. Baker has a B.A. in Finance and Marketing from Western Washington University.

Tim Benzel, CFA, VP & Sr. Portfolio Manager

Tim Benzel serves as Vice President and is responsible for the portfolio management of the SNW National Municipal, Blend, Taxable, Credit and Impact investment strategies. He served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Prior to joining SNW in 2010, Tim was an Assistant Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Neuberger Berman Private Asset Management, where his responsibilities included credit analysis and trading. Tim holds a B.S. from Linfield College. He is also a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Society of Seattle.

Jacob Brownfield, CPA, VP Of Business Operations

Jacob Brownfield is a Vice President of Business Operations on the SNW Investment Team. He was the CFO of SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Controller of Seattle Northwest Securities Corporation. He also has prior experience in public accounting having performed audits of SEC-registered and privately-held companies. Jacob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and his Masters of Professional Accounting from the University of Washington. He is also a licensed CPA and a member of the Washington Society of CPAs.

 Lisa Cook, AWMA, VP of Relationship Management

Lisa Cook is a Vice President of Relationship Management on the SNW Investment Team. She was Head of Client Services at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. In her previous role, Lisa was the Director of Client Services & Channel Sales Management at Freestone Capital Management. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Western Washington University with a concentration in Marketing and in 2015 acquired her Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA) designation through the College for Financial Planning.

Ken Frey, CFA, VP Corporate Credit Analyst

Ken Frey serves as a Corporate Credit Analyst on the SNW Investment Team with analytical responsibilities for taxable corporate issuers. He served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Prior to joining SNW in 2016, Ken held Portfolio Manager, Strategist, Director of Research and Credit Analyst positions at State Street Research, Nationwide Mutual and Dwight Asset Management, a Goldman Sachs Company. Additionally, he was a Credit Analyst at Standard & Poors covering financial institutions. Ken holds a B.A. from Heidelberg College, an M.B.A from New York University and an M.P.S. from Cornell University. He is also a CFA charterholder and a former President of the Stark Mountain Foundation, a 501(c) organization in Vermont.

Samuel V. Hecker, VP Municipal Credit Analyst

Samuel Hecker serves as a Municipal Credit Analyst on the SNW Investment Team with analytical responsibilities for east coast and southern tax-backed credits as well as the housing, water/wastewater, power, higher education and healthcare sectors. He served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Prior to joining SNW in 2012, Samuel was a Fixed Income Analyst at T. Rowe Price, covering securitized products. Earlier in his career, he worked in the public sector as a legislative Fiscal Analyst for the Mayor of Baltimore, lobbying the Maryland State Legislature on public finance issues. Additionally, he was employed by the city of Baltimore’s finance department as a Budget and Management Analyst. Samuel holds a B.S. in Geography from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, an M.S.F. from Loyola University Maryland and an M.P.A. from the University of Washington (Evans School of Public Affairs).

Lisa Krulish, AVP Investment Operations

Lisa Krulish, a member of the SNW Investment Team, partners with portfolio managers in trade execution and trade flow automation, as well as externally with broker/dealers and custodians to optimize trade settlement. In 2013, she joined SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Lisa has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry. Prior to joining SNW, Lisa worked for Seattle-Northwest Securities Corporation as Vice President and Operations Manager.

Dorothy Michak, VP Compliance and Operations Manager

Dorothy Michak serves as a Compliance and Operations Manager on the SNW Investment Team. She joined SNW Asset Management in May 2015. She served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017.Her previous roles include Director of Operations and Compliance for Seattle-Northwest Securities Corporation and Co-Manager of the Global Middle Office Fixed Income Sales and Trading for Piper Jaffray. With over 30 years’ experience as an operations and compliance professional she has served on industry committees relating to compliance and the fixed income markets. Ms. Michak attended Washington State University and is currently completing a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance from the University of Phoenix.

Rebecca Miles, Executive Assistant

Rebecca Miles serves as a Executive Assistant on the SNW Investment Team. She joined SNW in March 2016. She served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Ms. Miles was a Financial Advisor for three years in the greater Seattle area and has a passion for the field of finance. She graduated from the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington with a B.A. in Business Administration and is a member of the Ballard Rotary club. She holds her series 63 and 66 licenses and is working towards a CFP credential.

Jordan Mixsell, aVP Trader

Jordan Mixsell serves as a Trader on the SNW Investment Team. She served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Jordan holds a B.A. in Finance and Mass Communications from Linfield College.

Haley Reutimann, APMA, AVP Relationship Manager

Haley Reutimann serves as a Relationship Manager on the SNW Investment Team. She joined SNW Asset Management in August 2016. She served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Previously, she developed client content and communications for the research department at Fisher Investments. Haley currently serves as the main point of contact for clients. She is passionate about providing top-notch client service and building strong, individually focused relationships where the client is the center of it all. She has a B.S. in Finance with an emphasis in Economics from Montana State University and in 2017 acquired her Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor (APMA) designation through the College for Financial Planning.

David Richardson, VP Client Portfolio Manager

Mark Stockwell, VP Municipal Credit Analyst

Mark Stockwell serves as a Municipal Credit Analyst on the SNW Investment Team with analytical responsibilities for western and midwestern tax-backed credits, territories, as well as the transportation, water/wastewater and land-secured sectors. He served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Prior to joining SNW in 2015, Mark was a Senior Municipal Credit Analyst at Standish Mellon and Director of Municipal Research at PNC Capital Advisors. Additionally, he was a Municipal Credit Analyst at Vanguard. Mark holds a B.A. in Economics/Business and Political Science from Westmont College and an M.P.A. from the University of Southern California. He is currently co-chair of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) Disclosure Committee and also served as NFMA chairman in 2010.

Glen K. Yelton, VP ESG and Impact Research Analyst

Glen Yelton serves as an ESG and Impact Research Analyst on the SNW Investment Team with analytical responsibilities for the Impact strategies. He served in a similar capacity at SNW Asset Management, which was acquired by OFI Global* in 2017. Prior to joining the SNW in 2015, Glen managed the ESG research program at IW Financial. Before that, he oversaw ESG data collection at American Values Investments. Additionally, he has provided competitive intelligence research for a variety of Fortune 100 clients across several industries and served as an interrogator for the U.S. Army. Glen holds a B.S. from East Tennessee State University.
